Chaos and the Council Candidates.

I am spinning. Whirling around with so many thoughts and questions. Who will save Bradley Beach from the developers? Will the people ever be heard again? Are we really under a dictatorship style form of government? Why does it feel like we have a gang against the people? Will we ever get the truth behind the striping, the playground expenditure, recycle gate, the benches, the gazebo benches, opra gate featuring Lying Larry, or the god forsaken budget where 300k was in question under the salary and wages?
People love to talk about political infighting but you either align with trying to get the truth or not. When politicians fear social media is it because they are scared truth will come out? I keep hearing that the Mayor has contacted people, as he did with me, asking if they can delete posts or comments on social media. If not asking you directly to delete, requesting not to post things discussed with him. Is this even for real? In this small town we have to stop this from happening. It is maddening to have the mayor trying to stop people from speaking up.
Are people really running for council aligning with this current administration? We really do have sides here and it’s frightening. I don’t understand how someone can appreciate this strong mayor form of government. It is so simple to have clean democracy in a small town. People just want to be heard without an agenda running the show. A good amount of people, including myself, have been showing up this year to seek the truth. I don’t understand how there are sides when people just want transparency. When the people are disliked or frowned upon just for questioning and wanting truths, it feels that there are things being hidden.
I may become more surprised as the countdown continues to who will run for council. It seems Bradley is on eggshells hoping it doesn’t get swallowed up by candidates supporting these developers.
I know the “special females” have their candidate who supports the Main St. initiative which keeps me in question about these building developers or special interest groups.
I hear of another duo running for council, one of whom had someone illegally telling her how to vote on a zoning zoom meeting one night. I was on live to witness it. Makes me wonder what list of candidates we will have to choose from. Some other petitions have been coming my way. I learned that I can only sign four and I do plan to continue my due diligence to pick the top four that I think will be the best candidates for Bradley Beach.
I will be happy to question all official candidates and share my thoughts when the time comes. I really hope for some unity because even as I write my own truths, it is never easy to be outspoken. I just truly love this town and want to see it being run as the community it can totally be. Even with disagreements, I wish it was always led with respect, truth and kindness.
See you in the sand…
I’ll share my umbrella.
